Privacy Policy for our Email Lists

Last updated: October 3, 2026

This policy explains what happens to your email address when you join one of the email lists run by the Greater Philadelphia Region of Narcotics Anonymous (GPRSO, Inc.). We keep it short on purpose, because we collect very little.

What we collect

Your email address. Nothing else. We do not ask for or store your name, phone number, street address, or any other personal details.

We also keep the minimum record needed to run a list: which list(s) you joined and the date, whether you have confirmed or unsubscribed, and whether messages to your address have failed to be delivered.

Why we collect it

Only to send you the messages from the list you chose, such as newsletters, committee minutes and event announcements. These lists are one-way: they are for information, and replies are not read.

How you join, and how you leave

  • Joining requires confirmation. After you (or someone you ask) enters your address, we send one email with a link. You are added only when you click it. If nobody clicks within 48 hours, the request and the address are deleted automatically.
  • Leaving is one click. Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link. You can also use the unsubscribe option on the list’s web page. You will be removed from future mailings.
  • Erasure on request. After you unsubscribe we keep your address marked as “unsubscribed” so that it is not accidentally added again. If you would like it erased completely, ask us at the contact address below and we will delete it. We will also remove an address at the request of the person it belongs to, or of their family if they have passed away.

Who can see your address

Only a small number of website administrators and designated list managers can see the subscriber list, and only for running the list. We do not sell, rent, trade or share email addresses with anyone, and subscriber lists are never published.

Where the information is stored

Subscriber information is stored in the database of our website, gprna.org, on the servers of our web hosting provider, InMotion Hosting. Emails are sent through our own mail server at the same host. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (which include visitor IP addresses) for security and maintenance; we do not use them to identify subscribers.

Protection against spam and abuse

The sign-up form may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a service that checks that a visitor is a person and not an automated program. Cloudflare receives technical information from your browser for this check, under its own privacy policy. We also apply limits on how many requests can be made, using a scrambled form of the visitor’s connection address that is discarded within hours.

No tracking

We do not track whether you open our emails or which links you click, and we do not use tracking pixels.

Public archive of past emails

Past emails from some lists are shown on this website so that members can look back at them. Email addresses and phone numbers in the text of archived messages are replaced with a placeholder, with the exception of official organization contacts. Attached files (such as PDFs) are shown as they were sent, so please do not put personal contact details in documents that will be shared with a list. A message can also be left out of the public archive. If you see personal information on our website that should not be there, contact us and we will remove it promptly.

Email footer

Every email includes our postal address, as required by law:

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to tell you whether your address is on a list, to remove it, or to answer questions about this policy.
